Mayor's Message

Dear Residents of Indian River Shores and Visitors to Our Website:

In a continuing effort to provide excellent service to you, this website was developed to be an evolving source of information. Its purpose is to make readily available basic information about how the Town is governed, how it operates, and whom to contact when a question arises. Often a resident has a question of curiosity or of a general nature, and this website provides the platform to relay that information. We hope that you will visit it regularly for current updates.

We are pleased that our residents are involved and care about the Town, as is evidenced in the fact that almost 92% of the Town’s population is registered to vote. The Town of Indian River Shores continues to be financially sound in spite of State-mandated requirements.

As always, our doors are open to residents who have comments, concerns or questions as we strive to serve you. We invite your participation through calls, visits or attendance at our Town Council meetings. Any ideas for improvements to this website are welcome for consideration. My commitment, along with the Town Council and the Town staff, is to continue to work toward preserving and improving the quality of life in Indian River Shores.

Brian T. Foley

Mayor

Items being discussed include emergency permitting on the local and state level, availability of contractors, trucks and approved sand for dune restoration. If you have general questions concerning restoration, please contact the Town at info@irshores.com. Republic Services Update

At the direction of Town Council, Town staff has coordinated the following changes with Republic Services:

Between January 16 - January 30, 2023, you will have the option to select your desired trash cart size by calling 321-989-6038. You may choose between a 35-, 65- or 95-gallon cart. If your current 95-gallon cart is sufficient, no action is required, and your current cart will be used for service. If you have not received a cart, please call and order a cart size. Sample cart sizes are available for viewing at Town Hall. Remember that all trash must fit inside your cart.

On February 13-17, 2023, your newly selected trash cart will be delivered, and your current 95-callon trash cart will be removed.

On February 20, 2023, we will begin curbside trash collection.

Medically disabled residents’ requests for accommodations will be handled directly through Republic Services.

Until the transition period in February, residents may use the carts they have, including those at inground locations, or the 95-gallon carts if delivered. However, carts should be placed at the curb.

There will be no additional delivery or pick up of carts until the February transition period.

The Town has 35-gallon, 65-gallon and 95-gallon carts at Town Hall for residents to view. For reference, the 65-gallon cart is the same cart size currently used for recycling. If you have any questions about your service, please contact the Republic Services Customer Service Center at 772-562-6620.

Please note that the pickup schedule will remain unchanged until further notice.
